Game 1 – Seneca Valley 27, North Hills 18

Seneca Valley came out on top with a 27-18 victory over North Hills in an exciting girls’ flag football matchup. The game began with North Hills receiving the ball, but their drive quickly stalled when Seneca delivered a big sack on 3rd down. On 4th down, Seneca’s Lilly Hudac intercepted the pass, setting up a short field for the offense.

Starting from midfield, Seneca wasted no time as Lilly Sperry connected with Brynn Houser for the first touchdown of the game. The conversion was completed with a pass to Sophia Wimer, putting the Raiders ahead 7-0. After a quick three-and-out from North Hills, Seneca Valley got the ball back and scored again on their next possession. This time, Sperry found Natalia Verdi for a touchdown, extending the lead to 14-0.

North Hills struggled to move the ball on their third possession, as Seneca’s Mira Azemi delivered a sack on third down, forcing a punt. Just before halftime, The Raiders added another score when Sperry threw her third touchdown pass, this one again to Brynn Houser, putting Seneca up 20-0 at the break.

To start the second half, Seneca Valley received the ball and quickly struck again. Sperry connected with Wimer for the fourth touchdown pass of the game, pushing the lead to 27-0. Despite a strong effort from North Hills, they were unable to complete the comeback, as they managed to put some points on the board.

In the end, Seneca Valley’s fast start and powerful offense was too much for North Hills to overcome, with the final score of 27-18, giving Seneca Valley momentum into their second game of the day against Hampton.

Game 2 – Seneca Valley 36, Hampton 6

In a thrilling display of defense, the Seneca Valley Raiders defeated the Hampton Talbots 36-6 in their second game of the day, improving their record to a perfect 4-0 heading into Week 3.

Seneca Valley wasted no time, receiving the ball first and quickly marching down the field. Quarterback Lilly Sperry continued her great day through the air, connecting with Lilly Hudac for a touchdown to open the scoring with an awesome pass and catch in the corner of the endzone. Sperry then found Hudac again on the two-point conversion to give the Raiders an early 8-0 lead.

The Raiders’ defense took center stage on Hampton’s first three possessions, dominating in spectacular fashion. Seneca Valley’s defense recorded not one, not two, but three pick-sixes, turning interceptions into touchdowns on each of Hampton’s first three plays. The Raiders’ defensive effort put them up 28-0 just minutes into the game.

Hampton did manage to score in the second half, scoring a pick-six of their own, but it wasn’t enough to mount a serious comeback. Seneca Valley’s offense and defense remained too strong, as they finished week 2 with another win.

With their dominant performance, the Raiders continue their undefeated run, heading into Week 3.
